Suggestion: Add Scalable or Adaptive Label Sizing in 3D View
Problem Description:
When labels are added to a Cadasio project, their on-screen size remains constant while zooming in or out. As a result, when many labels are present in a scene, they overlap, mix together, and become unreadable—especially during close-up inspections or wider overview zooms.
Why This Is a Problem:
Labels overlap when zoomed out, creating visual clutter.
Labels appear disproportionately large when zoomed in, blocking important model details.
Viewers struggle to follow steps that depend on label clarity.
Reduces the usefulness of labels in complex assemblies.
Creates a poor user experience, particularly for mobile and tablet users.
Suggested Improvement:
Introduce a system where label size can dynamically adjust based on zoom level or user preference. Possible solutions include:
Zoom-adaptive label scaling — labels shrink when zooming out and grow when zooming in.
Option to lock label size to model units instead of screen pixels.
Label size settings per project (min/max size, scaling strength).
Automatic label collision avoidance to prevent overlapping.
Smart hiding rules (e.g., hide labels beyond a certain zoom threshold).
Benefits:
Clearer, cleaner visuals regardless of zoom level.
Greatly improved readability and navigation in complex scenes.
More professional presentation, especially for customer-facing or training material.
Reduces user frustration when trying to interact with many labels.
Enhances usability across all devices, including mobile.
